There is a requirement for a computer programmer within the Canadian SuperDARN operations team. The main duties will include making improvements to existing data analysis software and developing web tools for data plotting and manipulation.
The successful candidate will work with physics researchers and engineers to increase the quality of scientific radar data analysis tools and data plots, as well as to offer a web interface to data analysis tools for users in the scientific community and for the general public. The position will require the candidate to process large amounts of radar data, apply statistical analysis to the data and present the data in a user friendly interface.
The individual will be required to develop a thorough understanding of the various systems currently being used in the remotely operated radar systems. The individual will be required to identify and prioritise potential development areas and must be able to communicate technical details to the stakeholders. The individual must also be able to offer creative solutions, including complete and workable deliverables, while working both independently and within a team environment. Multitasking will be required to provide support in a diverse project environment, while maintaining an organised program.
