Summary of Duties:
Reporting to the Executive Chef or designate, the position of General Kitchen Helper primary objective is to provide a clean and safe kitchen area, wash and clean tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment, in addition to keeping the dish room and equipment clean and organized. Putting away clean kitchen and tableware. Carrying out general cleaning and kitchen maintenance. The General Helper also performs a variety of food preparation duties other than cooking. Working effectively as part of a team, to ensure the safe and efficient preparation of food within a specified time frame
Education and Experience:
One years experience in an institutional kitchen operation is preferred.
Successful completion of a Safe Food Handling Course.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of public health regulations and standards, a definite asset.
Ability to work conscientiously and with minimal direction.
Highly motivated, enthusiastic and cooperative.
