Position Overview
Unload, process and load material and operate the metal processing machines in a safe and efficient fashion.
Key Functions and Duties
Unload, grad, sort, process and load material
Direct customers to appropriate areas
Operate metal processing equipment including balers, shearer, material handler and skid steer
Identify material contamination and upgrade and notify lead operator
Conduct daily equipment checks and record findings
Clean equipment and perform daily basic maintenance
Keep work area clean, organized and free of clutter and debris
Report equipment needing maintenance or repair to supervisor
Complete daily Field level hazard assessment and equipment start up sheets
Participate in the development of hazard assessments and safe work practices
Report safety hazards or concerns
Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Qualifications, Skills, Abilities)
Previous experience operating equipment or machinery
Mechanical inclination and aptitude
Proficient written and oral communication skills
Adaptable to change
Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Able to travel
Alert and aware of surroundings
Physically able to do a labour intensive job
Ability to work outside in inclement weather
