Description

Job Title: Family Violence Worker
Job Description:
-    To provide emotional support and empathic listening to drop-in clients/regular clients:
-    To develop and elevate community awareness on the negative effects of family and domestic violence;
-    To address the needs of the Saskatoon Domestic Violence Court as it relates to the treatment of offenders and victims;
-    To provide a safe environment in which confidentiality is respected.
-    To provide support in a non-threatening manner;
-    To provide a family and holistic approach to healing;
-    To provide intervention and alternative ways to deal with abuse, anger and unhealthy relationships.
-    To recruit an female to assist in facilitation of a women's healing group
-    To provide education and information on child abuse as it relates to Domestic Violence and the harm that it inflicts on children;
-    To create a greater awareness of the Family Violence Program within the City of Saskatoon;
-    Group facilitation skills
-    Extensive knowledge about the dynamics of intimate partner violence and interventions that can decrease or escalate risk to women;
-    Knowledge of counseling theories and how they apply to Intimate Personal Violence work
-Knowledge of traditional teachings of healing
- Engage in the fundraising hosted by SIMFC
-Full Time (35 hours per week)
-Life experience an asset
-Female candidate preferred
