About the Opportunity
Fast Genetics is seeking a talented and motivated person with laboratory experience to work in a new flow cytometric cell sorting lab.  This new position will be based in Saskatoon, SK and will work under the supervision of the lab manager.

This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions but is not limited to:
Ability to communicate (verbally and written) to customers and Fast Genetics employees.
Work efficiently and is able to meet sperm sorting production requirements.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidentiality with company related matters.
Responsible for technical procedures such as data entry and record keeping.
Demonstrate good housekeeping needs in the sorting lab.
Demonstrate ability to use a flow sorter.
Demonstrate ability to analyze and interpret basic sperm motion and morphology characteristics.
Flexibility to work shiftwork including night shifts and potentially weekends.
Flexibility to attend training at another lab in Saskatchewan; ability to travel internationally for training if required.
Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate would ideally possess the following qualifications and experiences:
Laboratory technology training or equivalent 2+ year experience working in a laboratory.
Knowledge of cell biology, flow cytometry and andrology would be considered an asset.
Experience with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Attentiveness to detail and the ability to troubleshoot.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Time management and organizational effectiveness skills.
Ability to learn to operate instrumentation equipment.

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
 - Registered animal technician
