The Controller will manage all financial tasks and will oversee the Finance Administrators, and coordinate with the CEO, COO and finance committee the yearly financial planning.
The following description is a brief description of the controller position:
Develop and maintain financial analysis
Reporting financial activities for organization.
Ensure financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation
Review monthly financial results and present monthly variance analysis
Oversee maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
Reconcile bank and investment accounts
Assist CEO and Board Treasurer with financial reporting as required at board meetings
Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit and liaise with the Executive Committee
Oversee all payroll functions
Negotiate and manage employee insurance and benefit plans
Oversee payment of statutory and benefit remittances
Oversee management of all leases and contracts
Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation and prepare annual budget
Assist CEO and COO with program/department budgets
Maintain financial records for programs/projects in a manner that facilitates management reports
Project cash flows/manage cash
Develop financial management policy & procedures to ensure program & organizational risks are mitigated
Ensure organization complies with all legal and regulatory organizations.
Determine strategies to move the organization forward, set goals, create and implement action plans.
Maintain confidentiality of all internal matters.
Proficiency in Simply Accounting (Sage 50)
Candidate will have post-secondary education in accounting, commerce or business management/administration
