Description

DSI's business includes the manufacturing and supply of ground support equipment for mining industries.  We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team and be responsible for coordinating the work of many associates in all aspects of accounting including general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing and maintaining the complete accounting system including accounts payable/
receivable, general ledger, inventory, sales and analysis, and sales order processing for all facilities
Preparing month and year-end journal entries, bank reconciliations, and sales tax returns to meet respective deadlines
Preparing and scheduling all internal and external financial reporting
Dealing with matters pertaining to external accountants and government agencies
Administering company accounting policies
Acting as chief liaison for internal/external audits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting with CPA designation preferred
Legal entitlement to work in Canada
Minimum of 5 years experience in all aspects of accounting
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Great Plains or Navision (preferred)
Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
Understanding of business operations/services and ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
Proficiency in English; strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interpret and explain company policy to a wide variety of people.
