Description

Westmoreland Coal Company, Estevan Mine currently has a position available for a permanent, full-time Mine Engineer at Estevan Mine. Reporting to the Superintendent, Technical Services, this position is responsible for a variety of tasks within the engineering department and provides assistance as required.

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:
-    Perform tasks dealing with month-end closing responsibilities.
-    Prepare short-range and long-range mine plans.
-    Prepare engineering designs for safety and production.
-    Prepare monthly forecast and analysis information.
-    Coordinate the Mine Annual Operating Budget.
-    Ensure regulatory permits and conditions are met for continued mining.
-    Provide additional support to the mine with other assigned duties as required.  

Qualifications
   The ideal candidate will:
-    Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
-    2 or more years experience
-    Proficient in AutoCAD, Autodesk Map, SurvCAD, Excel or similar software
-    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
-    Strong communication and organizational skills
-    Strong analytical skills
-    Ability to manage multiple priorities
