Prairie Plant Systems, a leader in plant based pharmaceuticals, is seeking a self-driven individual to join the team as an Information Technology System Administrator in a full-time position.
Responsibilities
Participate in server, network and capacity planning in conjunction with other departments.
Configure, deploy, monitor and maintain servers, switches, firewalls, and software.
Monitor and interpret system logs for unusual or suspicious activity, and act to resolve.
Provide hardware & software recommendations for Microsoft Windows Servers, VMWare, and Cloud Services ensuring data availability, integrity & security.
Strategic evaluation of emerging technologies to meet business requirements and standards.
Identify, research, develop, document, modify, and support new and existing IT services.
Participate in negotiations with vendors and take ownership of IT projects to see them through to conclusion.
Assist and cross-fill duties for other members of the IT department when required.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years Post-Secondary education in Information Technology with 5+ years working in enterprise IT environments
Experienced working with Switches, VLANs, Firewalls, Data storage, Servers, Operating systems (e.g. Windows Server 2012 R2, Linux, Hyper-V, VMware) Backup applications and Network monitoring systems.
You are service oriented, trustworthy, and demonstrate solid interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills in an IT environment.
ITIL, MCSE, CompTIA Network + and CCNA Certifications will be considered an asset.
