Exceed Contractors is currently seeking candidates for our insurance remediation and repair business. Competitive wages paid for candidates with all of the following competencies:
Skills required
Must be responsible, punctual and physically fit to carry out construction tasks with an eye to efficiency, safety and quality. Must have own vehicle, valid class 5 and cell phone. Own tools required. Must be presentable and personable, willing to interact with clients on a daily basis.
Insulation
Knowledge and ability to install insulation & vapour barrier, drywall board, mud, tape and bead systems, sanding to paintable finish within allotted timeframe. Can perform basic drywall check-out and touch-up repairs prior to painting, including application of skim coats. Ability to install textured ceilings (popcorn, orange peel, knockdown, Spanish texture) in addition to touching up a/o tying into existing ceiling finishes.
Painting - knowledge of proper masking and taping procedures for both cut and roll and spray applications. Thorough knowledge of surface preparation for walls, ceilings, door & window trim and baseboards. ability to prep, cut and roll walls, Prep and paint doors, casings and baseboards. Ability to spray apply finishes to walls, ceiling and trim, all while maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work site.
Demolition - ability to safely perform demolition tasks such as wall, floor and ceiling demo. Ideal candidates will have valid certificates in hazardous abatement such as mold, water and asbestos. Must also be willing to work on an on-call basis for remediation work.
Carpentry - ability to perform basic rough carpentry such as basic framing, ability to hang interior and exterior doors, windows and related casings and baseboards.
