The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport is seeking a self-motivated, organized and confident individual to provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to several managers and consultants.
Reporting to the Director of Heritage Conservation, you will be responsible to format and process a variety of documents including letters, memos, cabinet documents, Minister and Deputy Minister referrals, briefing notes, and reports using features in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Other duties include maintaining electronic and manual filing and record management systems using ARMS and ORS, operation of office equipment, ordering office supplies, setting up meetings, taking minutes, providing office reception, and carrying out various other administrative support services as required. Your reception duties will include greeting callers, answering telephones and providing information to callers in a professional and respectful manner. You will also have financial management experience as the position requires use of governments financial systems to code, process and reconcile invoices for payment.
Our candidate of choice will be a creative and energetic individual who enjoys using their senior administrative support skills. Your will have advanced knowledge of a wide variety of computer applications and superior written and verbal communication skills. You will also have the demonstrated ability to independently organize, schedule, coordinate, and accurately complete multiple tasks, and be thorough, conscientious and attentive to detail to ensure precision in your work. Your ability to interact diplomatically with difficult or confrontational clients will also help you achieve success in this position.
Typically, the knowledge required for this position will have been gained through several years of related experience or a combination of experience and office administration education.
