Description

The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission is seeking an organized and reliable professional Legal Assistant for the Commission. This is a casual position and has no guaranteed hours of work.

Reporting to the Commission Assistant, the Legal Assistant will provide high quality and efficient legal support to the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commissions team of lawyers, paralegals and mediators.  Such duties will include the composition of correspondence, memoranda and legal documentation.  The successful candidate must be familiar with The Saskatchewan Human Rights Code and Regulations. You will also have a demonstrated knowledge of the Saskatchewan Queens Bench Rules of Practice and Procedure, as you will have significant recent experience in a legal support role.  

The candidate of choice should hold a Grade 12 plus a Legal Secretarial Diploma and/or 5 years minimum experience as a legal assistant in the area of litigation.  Experience with office organizational principles and systems and advanced computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office is essential. Data entry with accuracy and attention to detail are essential for this position. Your excellent communication skills will allow you to listen, accurately comprehend and orally respond to inquiries from the public, other agencies, staff, and ministries. You will be able to organize and prioritize a high volume of projects, consistently produce high quality work, and develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and stakeholders.
