Description

Buffalo Plains Cattle Company, is currently seeking a highly motivated, skilled feed truck driver / loader operator to join our staff at the feedlot.

This is a full time permanent position.

Job duties would include operating a feed truck to distribute a pre-determined quantity of feed to cattle daily, following yard specific guidelines regarding accuracy, distribution, and timeliness. Operation of a loader to load feed trucks, maintenance of feed trucks and loaders, servicing the mill, and maintenance at the mill. Receiving Feed and Supplements. Use of Computer Systems to feed cattle efficiently. Running the Feed Mill, and roll grain to the appropriate processing index.

You must accurately, and consistently feed cattle in a timely manner in the same order, and same time everyday. You must build rations with accurate, and consistent ingredient amounts, following mixing instructions as per ration sheets. As a feed truck driver - you must spread feed evenly across the entire bunk, and clean any spills to reduce waste.  You will report any pen maintenance issues, or cattle health issues to the Feedlot Manager, so problems can be rectified as soon as possible.

You must have a valid driver's licence.
Knowledge of livestock is preferred. Computer skills and knowledge is a must. Mechanical ability is a must, as you must have the ability, and knowledge to repair and maintain trucks and machinery maintenance. You must have high attention to detail, proven ability to multi-task, and work efficiently unsupervised, and equally, as part of a team. Have excellent communication skills.
