The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the overall function and success of the Volunteer Program. Understanding that coordinating volunteers is more than scheduling and administration, the Volunteer Coordinator facilitates rewarding and meaningful volunteer placements which build capacity and strengthen awareness, both internally and externally. The Volunteer Coordinator creates a welcoming and engaging environment for all visitors to the SFBLC. The position is familiar with the overall operations and needs throughout the organisation and communicates regularly with each department. The position will take initiative to develop opportunities for new partnerships for service learning, work placements, and corporate engagement.
The Volunteer Coordinator is also comfortable with office administration, providing relief to Reception for breaks and absences.
Terms of Employment:
* Full time, 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday 8 to 4 (occasional evenings & weekends)
Qualifications:
* Certificate in Volunteer Management or equivalent knowledge and experience
* Post-secondary degree in Social Sciences, or equivalent knowledge and experience
* Experience working in the community sector
* Experience using computers and audio visual technology
