Description

Primary Purpose: The incumbent will provide a wide range of administrative support within the Residence Services Office and coordinate residence operation, while providing administrative support and quality service to student residents and staff.

Nature of Work: This role is a senior role and the incumbent will be required to use judgement when necessary and to make decisions that are in line with Residence Services policies and values. Reporting to the Residence Office Supervisor, the incumbent is expected to understand and apply the core value of Residence Services when dealing with students, work cooperatively with other staff to ensure seamless professional service and efficiency, provide administrative support to the Residence Services team and treat all confidential information and materials in a confidential manner.

The incumbent is also expected to communicate issues of importance or concern to the immediate Supervisor in a timely manner, collaborate with custodial staff and external contractors to coordinate maintenance in units. The incumbent is the first contact to address and enforce departmental policies and procedures and will propose recommendations to his/her superiors if the resident is unsatisfied with the outcome and wishes to escalate their concerns. The incumbent will effectively manage assigned projects and reports as directed, while meeting deadlines. The incumbent will be expected to set priorities, have strong organizational skills and comply with all relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures established by Residence Services and participate as an active and supportive member of the Residence Services Office team. The incumbent will take the initiative to broaden their knowledge and understanding of Residence Services operations and continue to advance their abilities through the daily application of their skills and through self-motivation of personal development.
