This employee provides library technical support services and manages System software and related support tools for the schools resource centre and Information and Library Services.
** Experience with the Destiny library software preferred **
* Oversee the development and maintenance of centralized cataloguing services the integrated library system and distribution systems.
* Coordinate the division textbook management system for elementary schools
* Use standards of professional librarianship to create original catalogue records and edit bibliographic records available through online databases
* Provide on-site support for schools resource centre (i.e. de-selection, data entry,
inventory, and automated library software support
* Create resource bibliographies
* Provide in-service for a variety of staff on the use of the automated library system, and supporting tools
* Supervise purchasing and invoice approval
* Coordinate all aspects of the annual book display and Battle of the Books with the Coordinator
* Evaluate new software and make recommendations to software vendors
* Trouble shoot library management and software issues as they arise
* Assist Technology Services with the loading of software updates at school sites and
ILS
* Maintain all modules of the library management system and all other software used by ILS
* Develop technical procedural manuals for teacher-librarian /teacher use and maintain technical procedural manuals
Applicant must hold a diploma or certificate from a recognized library technician program
