Description

The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association exists to support and encourage foster families through education and advocacy, helping create healthy homes, positive environments, and brighter futures for children and youth in care across the province. We are currently seeking an In Home Support Worker / Mentor to be a positive role model and  assist in taking a 16 year old girl out to cultural activities and events.  

Schedule & Hours:
Hours are part time and flexible, a maximum of 6 hours per week.

Key Accountabilities:
    Support children and/or youths social and emotional development
    Observation and documentation of daily habits, social skills and emotional well being
    To organize and participate in recreational activities
    To provide supervision and ensure safety of all persons at all times
    To work in partnership with all families to ensure a consistent approach in dealing with behaviors is practiced
    Perform other related duties as directed

Qualifications:
    Post-secondary education or relevant degree/diploma in Social Work, Youth Care or Disability Support Worker; equivalent experience will be considered
    To develop and maintain effective working relationships with children, supervisors and partnering agencies while maintaining strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
    Must be able to express ideas and concepts both written and orally
    A clear Criminal Record Check including the Vulnerable Sector Check that is valid from the last three (3) months
    Standard First Aid and CPR
    Drivers license and reliable vehicle is considered an asset
