Purpose:
- To provide Production engineering support to all production CNC mill and lathe processes.
- Responsible for sourcing replacement tooling.
- Provide support for the maintenance team, as required.
- Work with production to create Standard Work for safe and efficient Job Methods.
- Assist with training Production Supervisors on effective operation of our machining centers.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the tooling department to ensure effective hand off of new machine tooling is properly utilized for safe and efficient production.
- Assist with the correct methods of setting up CNC machines of all types.
- Verify all new fixtures and new cutting tools.
- Catalogue, organize, and develop maintenance schedules for all CNC mills and lathes.
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree or technologist diploma in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience in managing CNC Mills/Lathe department
- Minimum of 3 years experience with G Code programming
- Experience with Mazatrol or IGF machining control programming systems an asset
- Thorough knowledge of how to design part holding fixtures for CNC mills and CNC lathes
- Thorough knowledge of the Excellent knowledge of CNC machine controls,
- Very strong Metrology skills are required
- Exposure to Renishaw Probing Systems an asset
- In-depth understanding of lean methodology and continuous improvements methods
- 3D CAD experience is required (SolidWorks is preferred) and Strong computer skills
