Check out what could be, the next step in your career!  We are a pork producer and breeder committed to doing what is right.   We are committed to the advancement of animal health, food safety and environmental stewardship in the community in which we live.  We are seeking an Assistant Manager to support the 7 days per week, 24 hours per day operation.  This role reports to the Manager.  

Operational/Technical Component
-Coordinates the proper handling, care and comfort to animals including daily checks.
-Ensures feed and water systems are working properly.  
-Schedules and participates the routine power washing of pens and preparing the pens for entry/re-entry.  
-Organizes and identifies stock for shipping.  Includes sorting, weighing, sorting and moving pigs.

Leading Others and Staff Training
-Understands the value in getting results collaborative through others.
-Leads orientation.  Reviews standard operating procedures with new employees.  
-Shares knowledge to help others perform at their best.
-Takes steps to ensure team understands the importance of Health and Safety practises.

We are seeking the following qualifications:
-Exposure and in experience in a livestock farm or ranch.   Confident in handling stock.
-Mechanical aptitude.  Prefer the welding skills for small repairs.
-Valid Drivers License.  Maintaining a valid license is a condition of employment.  
-Solid written and verbal skills to communicate to others. Ability to put thoughts and ideas in writing when standard operating procedures must be modified.
-College certificate or training in agriculture or livestock husbandry considered an asset however, relevant training is provided.
-Flexibility to extend hours given unforeseen equipment breakdowns.  Requires on-call rotation.
