Description

The Day & Ross Transportation Group is currently seeking a full-time Trailer Technician for our Freight division in Saskatoon, SK.

Our Trailer Technicians work in a large maintenance facility and are responsible for completing preventative maintenance, pre-inspection maintenance and repairs on break down of all trailers in the Day & Ross fleet. The fleet consists of van trailer/chassis and converters.

Please note: This position is currently scheduled 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
    
To be successful in this role, you will effectively complete the following non-exhaustive list of responsibilities:
    Conducts inspections of trailers, document and record the findings, and reports back to the supervisor.
    Operation of company owned yard equipment: tractor trailer combination (license not required).
    Repair van-type trailers: suspension, tires trailer axle, lighting systems, rear walls and doors, trailer frame and support, trailer body.
    Trailer bay and work area cleanup, washing the vehicles, sweeping, etc.
    Will be required to wash any trailers needed for the day to day operation of line haul.

To be qualified for this role, please ensure your resume clearly displays some or all of the following:
    Experience in trailer maintenance and repair is preferred
    Experience with hydraulics and hydraulic tailgates is considered an asset
    Must have sufficient hand tools
    Written and verbal English skills are required
    Experience driving semi-trucks would be considered an asset

The working environment can include warehouse/dock setting, garage atmosphere with loud tools, outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions, physical labour including crouching and lifting.
