We have one permanent part-time job to fill for someone who is looking to be employed within this position for 3 years or more. The ideal candidate will be a gentle, tidy, soft spoken mature personal care worker who is happy to assist a middle-aged male quadriplegic in his home, community, and sometimes travelling. You will be his arms and legs assisting him to live his best life. You will be working with all of the latest technology and equipment making it a safe and inviting work environment.
Shifts are:
Overnight shifts Thursday-Monday 11:00pm-7:30 am(this is a sleep over shift and you are required to answer a call bell, wake-up, and assist as needed throughout the night)
Mornings 7:30am-12:00 pm
Afternoons 2:30pm-5:30pm
Evening 7:00pm-10:00pm
We also have one full time position to fill which will be a split shift fulfilling evening care needs and overnight care needs.
Duties:
Assist with exercise and range of motion
Assist with dressing and undressing
Transferring between bed, wheelchair, and commode
Positioning in bed
Help with shower, brushing teeth, and brushing hair
Assist with self catheterization
Bowl care
Meal preparation
Clean and tidy up after performing duties
Other personal care and light duties as directed
Be respectful of client and the household
Occasionally travelling away from home
Assisting in the community
Skill/ Knowledge Requirements:
Caring, detailed orientated person
Confidential
Able to plan ahead and be thorough in task completion
Takes direction well
Able to prepare basic meals
Physically fit and capable of assisting a man move
Previous experience as a personal care attendant is an assist
Vehicle and drivers licence
Flexible with your time
First aide/CPR
