Loraas is looking for a Payroll Supervisor to contribute to the team by bringing excellent customer service to our internal customers. Reporting to the Controller, this individual will be responsible for payroll, employee insurance plans, pension administration, source deduction remittances, and taxable benefits.
Responsibilities:
-Provide supervision and support to payroll clerk(s) to ensure payroll is processed timely and accurately
-Ensure payroll is administered in accordance with all contractual and statutory requirements so employees are paid appropriately and appropriate deductions are made
-Ensure adequate internal financial controls exist and are followed in the areas of responsibility
-Complies with all contractual and legislated payroll mandates are issued by the prescribed deadline
-Prepare working papers for the year end as required
-Monitoring workload and evaluate direct reports
-Provide guidance to and share knowledge with colleagues/team members relating to own specialization
-Empower others and effectively solve problems
-Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes
-Address payroll related queries and requests from employees
-Coordinate with HR to carry out payroll processing
Requirements
-Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification
-Minimum 7 years of payroll experience
-Solid understanding of the Saskatchewan Employment Act
-Experience in a supervisory role considered an asset
