Description

The Saskatchewan Choral Federation (SCF) seeks an experienced, ambitious, and self-motivated leader to fulfill its mandate of promoting and supporting choral activities in Saskatchewan.
The Executive Director's primary role is to direct and manage the Saskatchewan Choral Federation and promote the mission, values, and vision of the organization. The purpose of the role is to assist the SCF Board of Directors in achieving its short and long-term goals through the management of SCF resources in accordance with its plans and policies.  In carrying out this mandate, the Executive Director will direct and manage the affairs of the Federation.  The Executive Director is accountable for organizational performance and exercises all authority transmitted into the organization by the Board; however, there is a high degree of independence in day-to-day planning. The Executive Director shall be responsible for performance of all aspects of the business.  We would like to hear from applicants who have established a career in arts administration and who have relevant experience, education, and sensitivity to choral music and musicians.  Knowledge of choral music is not required, but appreciation of and advocacy for choral music are essential.  Experience and/or training specific to leading and managing an organization with both a regional and national focus are desired. Exceptional communication skills and an understanding of the choral and cultural communities in both Saskatchewan and Canada are essential. Applicants should also demonstrate knowledge of leadership and management principles and legislations as they relate to not-for-profit/voluntary organizations (ex. human resources, financial management, project management, employment standards, human rights, occupational health and safety, charities, taxation, CPP, EI, health coverage, etc).
