Description

Assisting newcomer clients to assist newcomers to Canada to overcome barriers towards self-sufficiency in career decision making, job search, employment planning, labour market attachment and job management.  Newcomers will acquire an enhanced ability to participate in the local labour market and develop improved connections to employers.

The Employability Support Coordinator is responsible for receiving clients, registration and program intake.

Work with Program Manager for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.

Client assessments.

Create and maintain case/career management support for clients.

Provide one on one counselling services to clients.

Receiving and directing incoming telephone calls and walk-in inquiries.

General cleaning in coordination with other PAMC staff and volunteers.

Contributing to PAMC social media, such as Facebook and webpage.

Promoting the agency's mission, values and objectives.

Other duties as assigned by Executive Director.

This position reports to the agencys Executive Director.  Excellent communication and client service in English is a must, as is knowledge of the community.  Additional language skills would also be an asset, as well as experience with diverse cultures and cultural sensitivity.  Typing and computer skills are a must, as well as experience using social/internet media.
