Description

MAIN FUNCTION
Develop, manage and supervise preparation of building designs, cost estimates, specifications, ACAD & Revit drawings, and construction documents for maintenance, repair, alteration, additions and new building projects. Work with in-house architectural practice and engineers in design development and final design.  Provide design and ACAD & Revit work, client consultation, project management and field work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, review, analyze, design and/or comment on project designs and or construction plans.
Prepare preliminary design work and design development prior to preparation of final design and working drawings.
Supervise the development of structural drawings/specifications, with structural technical staff and building design staff.
ACAD & Revit preparation of structural drawings.  Need to be well versed with ACAD & Revit.
Provide technical advice and assist on issues related to structural engineering; work closely with engineering and building design staff to coordinate the design of projects.
Provide review of structural shop drawings.
Provide period inspections of project work under repair or construction.
Provide condition assessments  inspections and reports of existing structures.
Coordinate technical resources for projects.

MINIMUM
In depth knowledge of design of concrete, steel, and wood building structures; construction detailing and specifications; working knowledge of structural design computer software and structural Codes.
Ability to shift from project to project without loss of accuracy or time, delegate and administer project tasks, work independently and work with a variety of individuals and committees.
Bachelor of Science/Structural Engineer, P.Eng. with permission to consult in structural engineering in ON, MB, SK, & AB, or eligible for registration in the provinces.
