Description

With preference given to candidates located in the Yorkton area, VCM Construction seeks a Construction Safety Officer for a major industrial project with a minimum duration of 12-18 months (to commence immediately).
The successful candidate with have their NCSO Certification and a minimum of three (3) years of Industrial job site experience.
Duties include (but may not be limited to):
Conducting Safety Orientations.
Completing and submitting required Project Safety Paperwork at directed intervals
Providing advice to management on the safety-related actions needed to maintain an acceptable level of safety on the jobsite - based on OH&S Act & Regulations, WCB and VCM's Health & Safety Program
Seek cooperation from workers on site and existing plant workers using excellent interpersonal communication skills
Observing, inspecting and assisting site operations to ensure work is being done safely and the site is in regulatory compliance with the use of formal Site Inspections at appropriate intervals.  
Recognize hazardous situations and act on them appropriately.  
Assist with review of Incident, Accident Reports and assisting in Claims Management.  
Review of Near Misses to determine trends to rectify.  
Correct or report any unsafe conditions.  
Successful candidate will be fluent with Microsoft Office 365 products and show competence with e-mail and other communication tools.
