Job Order Detail

Description

Under the direction of the Materials Leader, you will perform strategic assignments of a complex nature requiring an engineering/design background and experience.  Your goal will be to quote, procure, and approve parts and suppliers.  You will be a liaison between the Bourgault R&D departments and purchasing department to ensure seamless transitions for new product development and changes to existing products.  

    Identify the best source for new and existing R&D changes.  
    Work alongside the concurrent production engineering team to conduct make/buy decisions.  
    Perform site visitations; assess capabilities, and quality process leading to supplier approval or rejection.  
    Identify and implement cost savings initiatives.
    Work with the Strategic Sourcing Specialist to determine the best course of action for domestic or international procurement of parts.
    Assist the purchasing department on technical and quality related production issues.  
    Implement and improve the current Bourgault Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
    Maintain good relationships with suppliers by utilizing impartial and objective criteria, while understanding sales tactics intended to blur those criteria.  

You must have:
1.    Proven Negotiation Skills.
2.    An Engineering Degree and/or Professional Designation .
3.    Advanced Excel and Word & Power Point.
4.    A willingness to take business courses/training.  
5.    A willingness to travel to supplier locations.
