EYES (Educating Youth in Engineering and Science) is a not for profit organization that exists to spark curiosity and develop lasting interest in science, engineering and technology. We engage children in grades one through eight with exciting, activity-based, fun-filled learning experiences. EYES reaches youth through in-school workshops, summer camps, and community events. In 2017, EYES reached over 17,000 youth in southern Saskatchewan.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the EYES team members to develop and deliver exemplary STEM programming for youth in grades 1 to 8
- Function as a positive role model to youth as someone who is interested in engineering, science, and technology
- Develop positive relationships with campers, parents, teachers and staff
- Routinely work overtime hours as required
- Follow all safety requirements set forth by the University and EYES.
- A willingness and passion to go above and beyond to educate and youth
Qualifications
- Completion of at least one year of university education, preference given to students who are in a science, engineering, or technology program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with children/youth
- Experience working in a team as well as on their own
- Willingness to improve ones background knowledge of scientific and technology concepts
- Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and work ethic
- Experience with underserved populations is an asset
- Valid Saskatchewan drivers license
