The Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking a full-time dually certified clinical Cytogeneticist/Molecular Geneticist to provide leadership to our Clinical Genetics Laboratories. The Laboratories are integrated with the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan and the Saskatoon Department of Laboratory Medicine of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The candidate will have an appointment with the University of Saskatchewan, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
The successful candidate will fill the role of Clinical Director and will be responsible for review and signed release of cytogenetic and molecular genetic tests, and will provide methodological, interpretative and consultative activities for laboratory results for bone marrow, amniotic fluid and blood specimens for the province of Saskatchewan. He/she will also provide the necessary leadership to move the current laboratory to state-of the-art testing using a variety of emerging genomic technologies including next generation sequencing. This is a challenging opportunity requiring not only significant analytic skills but excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
Ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. in genetics or a related field; CCMG certified/eligible in Clinical Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics. Salary levels are competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
