Description

YTC Project Safe Haven is seeking an individual to fill the part time position of Family Violence Outreach Worker.
Duties
Provide Family Violence awareness information
Inform and educate agencies about Family violence in communities
Supply skills and training.
Maintain current records &confidential reports
Develop and use tools to gather information to determine which areas require immediate attention
Supply information and collect data to prepare reports/develop models
Lead discussions/conduct meetings/workshops & seminars relating to family violence prevention
Promote wellness and healthy lifestyles/relationships
Motivate community involvement/develop groups, circles in each First Nation
Create an Aboriginal network that supports the exchange of knowledge of Family Violence
Qualifications:
The Outreach Worker must have a Certificate or Diploma in the human services field specialized training in counseling or an equivalent combination of experience and training.  
A minimum of 3 years experience in working in human services area and/or counselling supported by the Knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture and language.
Must possess the skills and abilities to team-build and network
Must be able to empathize with clients on a non-judgmental basis
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Must manage a number of people, priorities and projects at one time, and may have to respond to emergency or crisis situations
Should be available to work on short notice for emergency shifts
Must possess a valid drivers license.
