Description

POSITION:    Kitchen Supervisor
REPORTS TO:    Kitchen Manager

SUMMARY OF WORK PERFORMED

This position is a closing and or pre-closing position.

The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for assisting in day to day operation of the Boston Pizza kitchen under the direction of the Kitchen Manager.   This includes conducting the affairs of business in regards to the kitchen, the purchasing, receiving and preparation of all foodstuffs, according to company policies and practices, the staffing and the on-going training, supervision and development of the kitchen staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General
o    Ensure that all products received meet Boston Pizza International Inc. specification, that the invoicing is correct in respect to quantity, quality and price and that the products are properly dated, rotated and stored.  
o    Maintain products that are prepared according to Boston Pizza manuals, are properly served and will maintain control over prescribed food and labour costs and other kitchen related operating expenses.
Kitchen Staff Supervision
o    Ensure that all the kitchen staff are properly trained upon hiring and that any approved changes to menu, recipes or procedures are communicated to the staff and effectively implemented.
o    Ensure that there is adequate coverage at all times in the kitchen and will further ensure that all recipe, assembly and plating procedures are followed out in accordance to Boston Pizza International Inc. specifications.
o    Overlook the cleanliness of the kitchen and check-lists and cleaning schedules are followed.
o    Ensure a high standard of service efficiency, sanitation, and training and safety practices.
o    Purchase authorized products in appropriate amounts for the level of business expected.  Ensure that the quality, quantity and handling of all products is according to the Boston Pizza International  standards
