Description

Responsibilities:
Promote the Military Family Services Program (MFSP) to respond to the needs of medically released CAF Veterans and their families.
Develop or support awareness sessions, briefings and resources pertaining to change management and transitioning into a civilian community.
Provide information and referral services for the support and/or counsel of family members in crisis or imminent crisis.
Conduct and/or refer group and individual education sessions to support the transition to civilian life.
Establish contact with medically releasing CAF members, medically released members and their families to provide a general overview of the services of the VFP and MFRC.
Assist medically releasing CAF members, medically released Veterans and their families in their navigation of, and access to, relevant community programs and services, facilitate referrals to appropriate agencies/organizations as needed.
Provide follow-up with families to ensure referrals have been utilized and are meeting the familys needs and provide ongoing support to families as required.
Develop and maintain strong community partnerships with both civilian and military organizations and stakeholders.
Maintain open communication with Veteran Family Program.
Maintain records as required.
Coordinate the collection of statistical data pertaining to each activity and ensure all data is reported as requested.
Evaluate services both formally and informally on an ongoing basis.
Ensure all activities operate within budget guidelines.
Promote VFP programs, resources and services.
Desired knowledge, education, and experience:
Diploma or degree in social services field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Event Planning experience.
Competence in Public Speaking.
An understanding of the military community lifestyle is beneficial as is a proficiency in both official languages.
