PRIMARY FUNCTION
Maintenance Engineers are responsible for providing engineering and project management support for equipment fitness-for-service evaluations, repairs and maintenance, and reliability improvements. This may include procurement of replacement equipment, selection of contractors, and supervision of contractors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Supervision of Maintenance Engineers, including performance management, training and career development of the team.
- Complete cost estimates for planned maintenance projects for the annual capital and expense budget
- Prepare construction work packages consisting of step by step instructions outlining proper repair or modification and subsequent testing of existing structures, pipelines, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and other equipment
- Prepare tender documentation, reviewing submissions, and recommending vendor award for major pieces of replacement equipment
- Organize and supervise projects requiring outside contractors
- Complete fitness for service evaluations on refinery equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications include Bachelors degree in Engineering with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the petroleum refining industry. Candidates must be registered or be eligible to register with APEGS as a Profession Engineer (P. Eng.).
