Regina Youth For Christ is a mission organization dedicated to helping children and their communities, worldwide, reach their full potential by tackling causes of isolation and hopelessness. Motivated by our faith, we serve the youth in Saskatchewan - regardless of their religion, race, ethnicity, or gender - as a demonstration of God's unconditional love for all people.
The right candidate will be experienced and/or educated in working with youth or young adults in a supportive environment. Hours of work are 16hours /week (8 hours on Monday, 8 hours on Tuesday 2pm-10pm) with the possibility of having more hours occasionally, based on staff schedule.
The individual must be motivated, teachable and possess a heart that is sensitive to the needs of others and able to respond appropriately.
As a missions organization, Regina Youth For Christ requires all staff to be in agreement with their Statement of Faith and to continually fundraise to support the Ministry vision.
Overview:
Assessing and Planning
- Ability to support a youth's case plan, work collaboratively, communicate professionally with stakeholders and consistently create evening routines
Relationship building and Support
- Ability to build trusted relationships with youth, motivate and empower youth towards success, support youth in problem-solving and behavior choices, assist youth in creating and meeting goals
Overseeing and Guiding
- Ability to track and measure a youth's success, redirect or apply consequences to a youth's choices, hold a youth accountable for their choices
- Ability to set and maintain healthy, professional boundaries
*Requirement
-Must hold a valid drivers license and must be able to carry 10 + passengers.
-Lift up to 50 pounds, walk up 2 flights of stairs several times per day, stand, sit, crouch or kneel, perform CPR and other basic first aid functions and participate in low impact activities with youth
