Job Description: The Mental Health and Addiction Services Community Outreach Nurse Practitioner RN (NP) reports to Manager of Mental Health and Addiction Services - Adult Outreach and Targeted Prevention Services.  The RN (NP) is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience.  The RN (NP) blends in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and performs specific procedures in management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions.  The RN (NP) practices with a framework of evidence-based primary care and mental and health and additions care.  The RN (NP) will have responsibilities of clinical team building and clinical supervision within a collaborative community nursing model of care.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Level C Health Care Provider (HCP) - Heart & Stroke
Experience
3 years full-time experience as a Registered Nurse, with a minimum 1 year nursing experience working with marginalized populations including those with mental health and addictions.  
Requires 2 years full-time experience working in an advanced RN (NP) role, including community needs assessment, community development and health promotion preferred.
