Schedule, screen and conduct interviews and assess potential Big Brother, Big Sister, ISM and group volunteers in accordance with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canadas Service Delivery Standards.
Interview and assess each childs suitability to receive the Agencys programming, based upon identified needs and family dynamics.
Provide match support to volunteers, children/youth and families; various methods from phone to in person contact
Facilitate Strong from the Start Pre-Match Training to all children, parents, and volunteers, in accordance with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canadas Service Delivery Standards.
Work with Supervisor on all client, volunteer and match files, prior to matching, annual review and upon closing files at the end of a match.
Match each accepted volunteer to a compatible child (and family situation).
Provide information to parents and potential volunteers regarding programming, agency events and volunteer positions.
Keep confidential and organized files on all mentors, mentees and the subsequent matches, in accordance with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada National Standards.
Become proficient using the online Dynamics CRM Database.
Help to plan and facilitate evening and weekend Big Group Events for our matches and families.
Foster and support existing partnerships with schools, liaisons and organizations and create new partnerships as required by program needs
Assist with fundraising and recruitment efforts when necessary
Mail and general office support; criminal record check maintenance; coordination with workloads and audits; maintenance of closed files;
Any additional duties as required by Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualification requirement for this position is the attainment of a two year post-secondary diploma in a related field (e.g. education, social or human services, child and youth work, family studies etc.)
