Northern Shield Helicopters is currently looking for Full Time Director of Flight Operations to join its team in Saskatchewan.
This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and provides overall direction to the Northern Shield Helicopter flight operations for the safe and efficient operation of all company aircraft. This role will be responsible for managing, directing, and evaluating all matters pertaining to rotary flight operations including all operational programs and regulatory compliance.
Position Responsibilities:
Oversee and maintain control of operations and operational standards of all helicopters operated
Ensure that all flight crews are familiar with the regulations and procedures pertaining to their duties including: the areas to be travelled, equipment to be used, and the air navigation facilities to be utilized.
Responsible for the contents, supervision of, and ammendment of the air operator's Company Operations Manual.
Ensure overall compliance to all applicable legislations and may serve as a liaison with regulatory bodies on matters concerning flight operations.
Act as a liason with the regulatory authority on all matters concerning flight operations, including any variations to the Air Operator Certificate (AOC).
Supervise direct reports to ensure management of flight operations, safety, crew scheduling, maintenance, and flight safety.
Provide general guidance regarding staffing such as recruitment, selection, and retention activities.
Manage staff performance including: mentor and coach; conduct annual performance reviews and assist with corrective action as required.
Ensure that crew scheduling complies with flight and duty time regulations.
