Description

Boys & Girls Clubs of Saskatoon is accepting applications for Early Childhood Educators (Level III only) in our Evergreen Early Learning Centre.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Saskatoon offers all of its full time staff a competitive wage and benefits package (after a 3 month probation period) including RSPs, childcare discounts, health & dental insurance, life insurance, sick leave and staff recognition/appreciation days. Applicants who have had additional Play and Exploration training will be given priority. Additional qualities needed will include but are not limited to:

-leadership skills
-teamwork skills
-knowledge of the Child Care Act and Regulations in SK
-assessing/observing/documenting learning activities and skill development in children under 6 years of age
-effective communication skills (school personnel, coworkers, families and the community)
- preparing forms and any additional record keeping required
- using HiMama software to document, plan and communicate with families
-First Aid & CPR
-Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search

Early Childhood Education Skills
 - Provide opportunity for creative expression through the mediums of art, dramatic play and music
 - Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special activities
 - Prepare progress reports and discuss with parents and other staff members
 - Assess the developmental level of children
 - Knowledge of licensing regulations
Additional Skills
 - Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers
 - Order supplies and equipment
 - Maintain day care supplies and equipment
 - Assist in housekeeping duties
 - Assist in maintaining records of children
Early Childhood Educator Assistant Skills
 - Prepare craft materials and assist children to use them
 - Observe children and report on observations to supervisor
 - Guide children in development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
 - Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
 - Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for young children
 - Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers
 - Arrange transition periods such as lunch and rest for children
