Brandt is currently seeking a Purchaser for our Regina Mill Street location. The Purchaser will work for and with multiple divisions of the Brandt Group of Companies. Responsibilities include:
Getting the best value when procuring goods and services
Day-to-day procurement operations
Sourcing and purchasing materials as required
Negotiating effectively with suppliers to obtain best value
Producing purchase orders from requests/requisitions and expediting
Following standard purchasing operating procedures
Identifying and address issues related to the procurement process
Coordinating with manufacturing to eliminate parts shortages
Documenting supplier performance and complete reviews as required
Participating in procurement projects and programs
Resolving Accounts Payable issues as it applies to supplier deliveries
Resolving purchasing problems between department and supplier
Continuously developing market knowledge.
Required Skills:
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Excellent understanding and experience with ERP systems and the RFx/ sourcing process
Self-starter with the ability to work both in a team environment and independently
Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Thorough understanding of purchase order contracts
Knowledge of materials, products, and the commodity market in area of specialization
Strong knowledge of industry terms and standards.
Required Experience:
3 to 5 years of relevant experience
Post Secondary education in Business Administration or similar discipline
Mechanical and Electrical knowledge or purchasing experience is an asset
Professional certification in Supply Chain or Procurement preferred (SCMA)
Familiarity in a steel manufacturing environment would be considered an asset.
