Description

Job Summary:
Working with agricultural producers, youth and the general public to educate them about watersheds and water management, promote watershed programming and share beneficial management practices
$16.50/hour (40 hours/week)

Duties and Responsibilities:
Attend local events & festivals to promote the watershed & beneficial management practices
Responsible for invasive species monitoring and tracking activities on the online database
Advertise, plan, and run events such as childrens days at Regional Parks, Ag producer field days, and school group visits
Write newsletter and newspaper articles about watershed topics
Develop and kick off the annual Calendar Photo Contest
Assist with Shoreline Naturalization and revegetation projects (including finding participants, designing planting plans, planting, and reporting)
Develop relationships with agricultural producers and urban residents
Report to and take direction from a management committee

Knowledge, Abilities, Experience and Personal Suitability:
Knowledge of agriculture and/or environmental industry
Knowledge of soil, water, & elementary plant identification
Able to problem solve and make decisions to meet goals and expectations
Able to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision
Comfortable to strike up a conversation with anyone and engage their interest
Outgoing and approachable personality while representing OWWA professionally

Qualifications:
Returning student within the field of Agriculture or Ecology or Environmental studies
Valid class 5 Drivers License
Willing to work a number of weekends throughout the summer (other time off will be given)
Access to a vehicle and cell phone (mileage and phone compensation)
