Description

The North East Early Childhood Intervention Program requires a full time staff member for a new initiative of Specialized Support Facilitator. This is an information and advocacy support position for families of children aged 6-18.  The staff member will support families in navigating various systems and provide ways of inclusion in all aspects of the child's life.  This program is specifically for the First Nation communities in the North East ECIP service area.

Faciliator will provide support to families who have children, 7-17, with a developmental delay or disability. Duties will include: connecting families with diagnostic services, and follow through on recommendations made; connecting families with support systems in their communities; providing student, families and community services with best practices information; support students transitioning between school to home; supporting families in setting up programs that will best meet their child's needs; supporting families as the advocate for their child's needs; participate in problem solving difficult situations around a child with extra needs.  It will include case management, and all required documentation and statistical collection.

Post secondary diploma required.  Experience preferred.  Must have a valid licence and clear driver's abstract.  Must provide a current and clear Police check, including Vulnerable Sector, before employment begins.
