Applications are invited for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in General or Applied Linguistics effective July 1/18. The appointment will initially be in the Dept. of Linguistics and Religious Studies, currently under transformation to a dept. focusing on Linguistics.
Qualifications-PhD in a relevant area (at time of appointment) with research & teaching specialization in any of the following: Computational Linguistics, Speech/Text processing, CALL, Corpus Linguistics and/or language-related aspects of Artificial Intelligence. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a record of peer-reviewed academic articles published in reputable journals are required.
The responsibilities involve teaching 4 classes/year of undergraduate and graduate Linguistics courses, as well as the development of new courses.
Salary bands: Assistant Professor: $93,293 to $112,109; Associate Professor: $112,109 to $130,925; Full Professor: $130,925 to $152,877. Appointment is expected to be at the Assistant Professor rank.
