Description

Primary Purpose: To provide operational and strategic assistance to enhance the international research and development success of U of S faculty and research staff to meet the goals of the International Blueprint for Action. To assist faculty with the development of successful funding proposals for international research and development projects, to manage the University of Saskatchewans participation in major international research and development funding programs, and to promote possibilities for partnerships and initiatives important to the University of Saskatchewan.  

Nature of Work: Reporting to the Director, International Research and Partnerships, this position supports researchers by identifying funding opportunities, communicating complex, specialized information on major research funding programs, research policies, and budgetary and project management activities in the area of international research.  This position requires an in-depth knowledge of international research funding opportunities in order to effectively assist researchers with proposal development, ensuring that each proposal supports the strategic directions of the University of Saskatchewan. This position acts as an interface between researchers, granting agency representatives, the International Research and Partnerships Office and Research Services & Ethics Office in terms of research grant and contract integration, and assists with appropriate recognition of successful proposals and applicants through liaison with the Research Communications team.  The position will assist with initiating and developing research collaborations, application strategies, project design and management as required.  This position will work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a variety of integrated team environments.
