Description

The Metis Addictions Council is an affiliate of the Mtis Nation - Saskatchewan and is a non-profit corporation providing alcohol and drug services and counselling programs to Saskatchewan residents

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Mtis Addictions Council, the Program Manager is an out-of-scope, entry-level management position, based in Saskatoon with regular travel to other locations in the province.  The incumbent will research program models and approaches and incorporate best practices within the MACSI treatment model.  The Program Manager will work closely with Regional Directors and program delivery staff to ensure a consistent and high quality service is provided through providing and arranging staff training, developing standards and evaluating practice.  This position will also be familiar with funding opportunities to support the work of the Mtis Addictions Council.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    University degree or diploma in social sciences such as Psychology, Social Work, Addictions Counselling or an equivalent combination of five (5) years experience and education in an addiction, social or health-related field;
    Sound knowledge of counselling theory, human behaviour, alcohol, drug and solvent abuse;
    Experience in addictions treatment including individual, group counselling and prevention work;
    Experience in the provision clinical supervision;
    Extensive experience in program planning, staff development and community/government relations;
    Knowledge of funding sources related to health and addictions services available at the Federal and Provincial government levels;
    Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills;
    Excellent knowledge of Metis and First Nations communities and cultures as well as traditional healing approaches;
    Ability to produce a current CPIC and Enhanced Security Clearance;
    Hold a valid drivers license and ability to travel
