Geotech, Junior Geologist
Geotemps' client is seeking a motivated Geotech for a temporary contract. The Geotech will be reporting directly to the Site Project Manager and will be involved with a number of duties related to the Exploration project.
This role will include tasks like core logging, work around drill rigs, sampling, RQD tasks, core recovery and other duties as assigned or similarly expected of a Geotech or Junior Geologist on a similar project.
JOB DUTIES:
Complete physical tasks and data entry around drill rigs with little supervision
Complete sample prep, RQD tasks and core recoveries
Documentation and organization as needed
Complete any special project tasks as required
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from BSc degree in Geology, Earth Science or similar program preferred
6 months to 3 years of experience working in a similar position in a FIFO camp environment
Must be able to communicate well and work in a dynamic team environment
Ability to work with limited supervision
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly, walk on uneven terrain, and sit and stand for extended periods of time
Ability to work in inclement weather conditions
Must have good knowledge of Health & Safety best practices
Must be eligible to work in Canada
