The kennel attendant/animal rescue person performs duties to ensure quality care and treatment of all shelter's animals. Responsibilities include cleaning of kennels / cages, feeding of animals, general grounds keeping, completing relevant paperwork, and other tasks as assigned.
You must be able to work evening, holiday and weekend shifts.
This position interacts and collaborates with all levels of the organization, includes peers in the same departments, executive team members, representatives from external agencies, the general public, children and volunteers. Communication must be clear, understandable, positive, professional and respectful in all circumstances.
You must be able to receive direction, work with a team and also be productive on your own.
You will have exposure to potentially aggressive, unruly animals.
You will have exposure to angry or aggressive individuals
The environment can be noisy, odorous and stressful, both physically and emotionally.
Work performed requires lifting, bending, pushing and other strenuous activities.You will also will be working out doors in all the weather conditions.
Shifts start in the early am. You must be willing to work early am shifts.
