LIBRARY SUPPORT WORKER (3 MONTH FULL TIME TERM REGINA CAMPUS)
Are you a First Nations youth between the age of 15 - 30 years of age? As a member of the Library Services Team, you will be on the front lines of student support. General day-to-day library duties, include: shelving returned materials; answering basic reference and directional questions; the circulation of material and placing holds; assisting patrons with photocopying and printing; phoning patrons who have materials on hold; processing withdrawn books; tidying the library before the end of the shift. This position is under a CUPE Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Duties and Qualifications:
Applicants can be individuals with post secondary education undergraduate or graduate degree in Indigenous Studies, English or History, and/or some experience in libraries and with the Library of Congress call number system. Experience with the following would be helpful:Exhibit focused attention to detail; Strong proficiency with computers is required email, typing, and search engines; Flexibility with multi-tasking and shifting priorities throughout the work day Work efficiently and keep work organized; Demonstrates the ability to learn new skills quickly; Works collaboratively to get the work done expediently; Initiative, good judgment and ability to follow through; Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Hours of work for this position can
vary including weekend and evening schedules according to Library needs. Salary range is $18.77 per hour, plus vacation pay. A daycare subsidy of $500 per month is also available for individuals who meet the criteria.
