Description

The Yorkton Tribal Council is looking for one highly motived student to fill the Network Engineering Intern Position. Candidate will get constructive biweekly and project based feedback from YTC departments directors and Economic Development Coordinator.
The Economic Development Coordinator will assign weekly tasks to the summer student and provide direction. He will be available throughout the summer to work with, supervise, and mentor the student on the projects.
This position is subject to approval from Service Canada
Tasks and Responsibilities
Installing and configuring computer systems, Diagnosing and solving hardware/software issues.
Support external IT company/contractor by completing various improvement or maintenance work.
Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration/directing system installation/defining/documenting & enforcing system standards.
Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
Troubleshoot and develop technical solutions for YTC staff issues related to software set-up and configuration
Troubleshoot, develop workarounds and escalate issues related to Hardware and software errors
Collaborate with YTC departments to ensure the optimal technical setup for every employee
Other projects and activities to support overall corporate and communications requirements and initiatives
Applicants must be between 15 & 30 years of age
Is registered as a full-time student during the academic year 2017-2018
Intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year
Applicants must be a permanent resident or Canadian Citizen
Preference will be given to those of Aboriginal ancestry under exemption E-96 of the Human Rights Code.
