SUMMARY: The Nurse in Charge, under the direction of the Director of Health, will primarily be responsible for the organization, development, and management of clinical services, its programs activities and the delivery of community health services in accordance with established standards of nursing practices within the William Charles Health Center. Follows the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation of all health programs and performs other duties relevant to the role will be assigned as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Manages and coordinates the delivery of nursing services, through the William Charles Health Center.
Will be performing both administrative and clinical duties when required.
Provide tools, leadership and direction for nursing staff.
Collaborate with medical team to ensure smooth, efficient patient care and assess the level of care and report any issues to Director of Health.
Assist and/or coordinate care with clinics, outside physicians and hospitals.
Conduct objective and constructive performance reviews including clinical reviews as scheduled.
Demonstrate accurate and timely documentation according to form guidelines.
Act as part of an inter-disciplinary team and attending team meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma or Bachelors degree in nursing of an accredited school of nursing.
Current registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association(SRNA).
Must have Advanced Authorization to Practice(AAP).
Minimum 3 years of experience in clinical management, experience in emergency and/or primary care with at least 1 year in a northern health center.
Certified in CPR, International Trauma Life SupportBasic Provider Course, ACLS, PALS
