Description

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, a Saskatchewan-grown industry-leading custom metal fabricator servicing the needs of the power generation, mining, construction, government, oil and gas and petrochemical industries to recruit for a Project Manager to support their growing operations.

The Role:

Lead and deliver on multiple projects of varying degrees of complexity and scale, from the proposed design and bidding stage through to fabrication and on-site construction, effectively balancing the competing demands of quality, scope, time, and cost; ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget
Prepare bid packages/proposals by engaging subject matter experts including engineers, designers/detailers, estimators, production staff, quality controllers and procurement and construction specialists in providing the necessary information to build a competitive bid
Participate in pre-award contract negotiations and bid reviews and run project communication meetings and presentations

The Ideal Candidate:

Minimum 7 years of steel fabrication experience complimented by 3 + years of mid-level or higher project manager experience overseeing complex projects
Demonstrated track record of success managing major high value projects with responsibilities including quality, scheduling, and budgeting. Full cycle project management experience is essential complimented by a clear understanding of project management best practices
Preference will be given to candidates with a mechanical engineering degree or diploma. Candidates with a combination of steel fabrication project management and complimentary post-secondary education may also be considered
PMP designation is considered a strong asset
